Edward A. Dahlka, Jr.

Edward A. Dahlka, Jr. joined Cole Taylor Equipment Finance in 2012 as President, overseeing Cole Taylor’s launch into the equipment financing industry. Mr. Dahlka is a leasing industry veteran with more than 40 years of experience in establishing and expanding highly successful national leasing companies.

Mr. Dahlka is the former President and founder of LaSalle National Leasing Corporation (now part of Banc of America Leasing), which specialized in commercial middle market and vendor leases, including true lease transactions. Prior to joining LaSalle, he served as both Executive Vice President of Sanwa Business Credit Corporation (SBCC) and as President of Sanwa General Equipment Leasing Incorporated (Sanwa GEL). Before his career at Sanwa, Mr. Dahlka was President of MNC (formally known as Maryland National Leasing Corporation) overseeing deal structuring, credit review, lease documentation and brokerage of lease transactions. During his tenure at MNC, Mr. Dahlka also managed the national sales force and the financial services department.

Mr. Dahlka is a 25-year member of the Equipment Leasing Finance Association (ELFA). He served as ELFA Chairman (2002-2003), as well as Treasurer (1997-1999), and was Chairman of the organization’s Federal Government Relations committee for three years. He also served as Chairman of the ELFA Bank Lessors Committee. Mr. Dahlka was a member of the Board of Directors of ELFA, serving on the Finance, Nominating and Executive Committees. Additionally, he held the position of Chairman of the ELFA Lease-PAC Committee. He was appointed Chairman of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Foundation (ELFF) in 2009 and currently serves as the foundation’s Immediate Past Chairman.

He is a native of Detroit, Michigan and holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University and a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.

David M. Drury joined Cole Taylor Equipment Finance’s leadership team in 2013 as group senior vice president. He is directly responsible for the execution of the company’s strategic efforts and leads a national team of sales and capital markets professionals as they originate new equipment leases/loans as well as acquire/syndicate equipment leases/loans in the secondary market.

Mr. Drury joins the bank from General Electric Capital Corporation, where he was most recently managing director of intermediary funding, focused on helping financial institutions and other intermediaries by acquiring mid-to-large sized loans and leases in the secondary market. Prior to that, he held positions as both regional sales manager and senior vice president of sales with General Electric Capital. Mr. Drury has more than 25 years of experience in credit and finance, having served in sales, credit and leadership positions with Mellon US Leasing and Banc of America Leasing & Capital/Nations Banc Leasing, among others.

He attended Penn State University where he was awarded a Bachelors degree in finance and a minor in economics. He also attended Duquesne University’s MBA program. Mr. Drury lives in Phoenix, Maryland, with his wife and three children.

 

John A. Hurt


Senior Vice President, Technology

John A. Hurt joined Cole Taylor Equipment Finance in 2012 as Senior Vice President of Technology. He has more than 20 years of senior-level Information Technology experience. During his expansive career in the leasing industry, Mr. Hurt has been instrumental in designing and applying technology to support national sales teams, customer relationship management platforms, and process improvements.

Prior to joining Cole Taylor, Mr. Hurt was Senior Vice President of Information Systems for LaSalle National Leasing (now part of Banc of America Leasing). During his nine-year tenure at LaSalle, he was responsible for developing IT strategies for the company’s U.S. and Canadian leasing divisions and pioneered the development of a market-leading sales management strategy. Previously, Mr. Hurt spent four years as Director of IT for The Time Group and Harbor Leasing Associates and also served as head of IT for Fieldstone Mortgage Company. He designed Fieldstone’s IT infrastructure as it grew from a startup company with nine employees to an organization with 400 employees in 17 offices. In addition, Mr. Hurt founded Creek View Consulting Group, a company that assisted growing businesses in developing strategies to leverage technology to enhance sales force effectiveness and enhance back office efficiency.

Mr. Hurt served on the Technology Committee for the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) and the ELFA technology award review committee.

He holds a B.S. from Towson State University.

 

Joseph A. Maddox


Senior Vice President, Accounting and Finance

Joseph A. Maddox joined Cole Taylor Equipment Finance in 2012 as Senior Vice President and is responsible for overseeing the division’s accounting, tax, and finance functions. He has more than 30 years of experience in lease accounting and portfolio management. Prior to joining Cole Taylor, Mr. Maddox was Senior Vice President and Controller of LaSalle National Leasing Corporation (now part of Banc of America Leasing). His responsibilities included developing and managing financial reporting and control functions, income tax reporting, pricing, lease accounting and portfolio conversions.

Mr. Maddox is a Certified Public Accountant who began his career as a staff accountant with Grant Thornton and moved on to the position of Controller of Maryland National Leasing Corporation. He also served as Vice President and Controller of Sanwa General Equipment Leasing.

Mr. Maddox is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. He is a former member of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association’s Research Committee.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park.

 

Jennifer Poland Rosenberg, CPA/ABV

Jennifer Poland Rosenberg joined Cole Taylor Equipment Finance in 2012 as Senior Vice President overseeing Credit. She has more than 20 years of experience in risk management, financial analysis and business valuation.

Prior to joining Cole Taylor, Ms. Rosenberg was a senior manager with Tucker & Meltzer Valuation Advisors in Baltimore where she focused on corporate valuations of closely held businesses and private equity investments. She spent three years as a risk manager for GE Capital Corporation where she was responsible for underwriting and closings of commercial loans and leases. She also held a leadership role with LaSalle National Leasing Corporation where she served as a vice president and mid-ticket team leader, overseeing the underwriting of equipment finance transactions and portfolio acquisitions. She began her career at Ernst & Young LLP as an auditor and then moved on to Morgan Stanley as a manager in the private equity group.

Ms. Rosenberg is a Certified Public Accountant and holds the Accredited in Business Valuations credential. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Baltimore Estate Planning Council.

She earned a B.A. in Business Accounting from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

 

Peter J. Steger


Senior Vice President, Operations & Asset Management

Peter J. Steger joined Cole Taylor Equipment Finance in 2012 as Senior Vice President of Operations and Asset Management. Mr. Steger has more than 25 years of experience in equipment leasing, particularly in the areas of operations, asset management and risk. He began his career in operations with AT&T Capital Corporation in the company’s captive leasing group, rising to the position of Chief Risk Officer of its automotive services division before the company’s acquisition by CIT Group.

In 2002, Mr. Steger joined LaSalle National Leasing Corporation, serving in the asset management group, ultimately specializing in healthcare and high tech equipment financing. He was selected to launch LaSalle’s small ticket leasing group, which was successfully introduced before LaSalle was acquired by Bank of America. Following the acquisition, Mr. Steger served as a senior operations analyst in the business banking division of Banc of America Leasing, overseeing the installation and conversion to new data systems and processes.

Mr. Steger holds a B.S. degree from Fairfield University. He resides in Towson, Maryland with his wife and daughter.
