Bruce W. Taylor, as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for setting strategic direction for Taylor Capital Group (Nasdaq: TAYC) and Cole Taylor Bank, the ninth-largest commercial bank in metropolitan Chicago.

Since joining the family-owned and operated bank in 1978, Bruce has been instrumental in redefining the company’s commercial banking specialist strategy and developing key initiatives. In the late 1980s, Bruce was involved in managing the company’s transition to branch banking, making Cole Taylor Bank the first branch banking holding company in Illinois.

Bruce became President of Cole Taylor Bank in 1994 and in that capacity directed the Bank’s business units. Bruce continues to develop Cole Taylor Bank’s sales and service culture through training and development programs, the introduction of new products and services, and more effective use of technology. Bruce has successfully helped build Cole Taylor Bank into Chicago's largest independent bank.

Bruce earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BS from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He is a member of the World President's Organization, Midwest Trustee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Past Chairman of the Board of the Chicago Center for Family Health, Immediate Past Chairman of the Illinois Bankers Association, and a Director of MTL Insurance Company.



Mark A. Hoppe

President and CEO Cole Taylor Bank

As president and chief executive officer, Mark A. Hoppe, is responsible for executing Cole Taylor’s commercial banking strategy and for ensuring the profitability of the bank. In partnership with Chairman Bruce W. Taylor, Mark is also responsible for directing the growth of the bank.

Mark joined the bank, succeeding Bruce as president and CEO,in 2008. His extensive track record in commercial banking includes more than 27 years with LaSalle Bank, N.A., where he was most recently CEO of LaSalle Bank Midwest in Michigan. He also spearheaded the launch and served as vice chairman of LaSalle National Leasing Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of LaSalle Bank.

Notably, Mark’s experience in middle market commercial banking is particularly strong. During his tenure at LaSalle, Mark headed up financial institutions, small business lending, private banking and public funds divisions, and managed business and association banking units, which included not-for-profits, unions and municipalities.

Mark holds an MBA and a BBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin. He resides in Northbrook with his family.


Robin VanCastle
Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Robin is a member of the Executive Management Committee and plays a broad-range management role. She is responsible for capital planning, financial management and investor relations and corporate communications. She leads the company's relationships with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Reserve Bank, external auditors, investment bankers, debt ratings agencies, institutional shareholders, securities analysts and financial media.

Robin, 53, joined Cole Taylor Bank in 1990 as Director of Internal Audit and in 1993 became Group Senior Vice President of Financial Management. She was named Chief Accounting Officer in 2006. She is a CPA who joined the bank after 11 years in public accounting. She played a leading role in the company's recapitalization related to the 1997 split-off from a predecessor company, and subsequent transactions to complete that event, which included an initial public offering in 2002, reducing the company's cost of capital by refinancing preferred equity in 2004, and in 2005 a follow-on offering of common stock.


Jeffrey W. Taylor
Executive Managing Director

Jeffrey W. Taylor, Executive Managing Director, Taylor Capital Group, Inc., is responsible for focusing on strategic customer-engagement activities, new business development and areas of the business with potential for more growth.

Jeff joined Cole Taylor Bank in 1978 as assistant general counsel, and later as general counsel. He became CEO of Cole Taylor Bank in 1991 and built an experienced management team by attracting seasoned professionals from major financial institutions.

Jeff played a visible role as CEO of Cole Taylor Financial Group, which went public in 1994. In 1997, he led a group of family and employee investors in a buyout of the bank from the publicly traded holding company. That transaction created Taylor Capital Group, Inc. the holding company of Cole Taylor Bank.

Jeff holds a JD from Northwestern University School of Law and a BS from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. He is a member of the World President’s Organization, Loyola Family Business Center Peer Advisory Group and Supercommunity Bank Forum. He is the Chairman of the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts Foundation Board and Chairman of Healthcare Alternative Systems Development Advisory Board. He is on the Board of the Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Foundation, Northwestern University School of Law, After School Matters and Weizmann Institute Midwest Regional Board.
